Dishonored

Where to start with today's review. Let's see...I guess I could start with my thoughts of Dishonored before playing it. I had very high expectations for this game mainly because it's a Bethesda game (well I guess Arkane Studios game). I knew there was no way they could top Skyrim, but I still expected a great game. I'm not certain Dishonored lived up to my expectations, but then again they were very high. Not many games could've met those standards. So I wasn't blown away, but this was still a solid game all the way around.
I like to think of it as Skyrim mini. Bethesda really stuck to their roots and it paid off. Using their success of Skyrim, this game feels very similar in almost every way, but also much more limited which is fine. (I would've loved to hear a guard say "I used to be an adventurer, until I took an arrow to the knee.)

This game focuses on stealth and patience. The game is all about finding the best way of getting from point A to point B without being seen. Even though the area you are given to play in is much more limited than Skyrim, you still get to interact with pretty much everything you see. This creates numerous ways to finish missions which is really the main reason to play. You also get a multitude of gadgets to play with which makes exploring the combinations of paths and gadgets really fun.

The story was pretty predictable so I never found myself shocked by anything that happened. It's still a good enough story to tie the game together, just don't expect many twists and turns. Graphically it's exactly the same as Skyrim. That said, finishing the game won't be very difficult for most of you, but finishing it without being seen or killing anyone is definitely a challenge. You do get the option to either kill or render people unconscious (who knew everyone snores when they're unconscious?) which actually is the best way to complete the game I think.

Overall, Ok. Cool. and Buy Now. About as good as a follow up to an epic game like Skyrim as you can get. Definitely not a disappointment from it's E3 reveal (*cough Wii U).
