Crash Team Racing felt awfully familiar for some reason. Now why was that...oh right, because I already played Mario Kart. Yep, for me this was just Mario Kart with Crash Bandicoot characters. I know I've had a conversation about this before where I said it was a rip off and someone else thought that it was completely different. Here's some reasons I was given on why it's different (and I admit they are all valid differences).
1. Boss races: You face off against different bosses throughout the game and once beaten, you can play as them.
2. Peach System: Collecting peaches will give your kart a little more pep and make weapons stronger.
3. Different Race Modes: Instead of just a plain race, you can do a Relic Race, Time Crate race, or CTR challenge.
These reasons really don't affect my overall impression of the game. Still a solid game, but just another kart racer in my eyes. I'll admit CTR is more different than Mario Kart than I first thought, but I still the original is always better thus Mario Kart is the better game. (Besides, CTR doesn't have Princess Peach. Oh how I wish I was kidding).
Overall, Ok. Cool. and Buy Now.
