Congo Bongo
Wow, this is my third review of the day. What a productive day, where did all of this motivation come from? Well, let's stick with the old school theme I've built (anyone wanna party like it's 1982? Oh...wait...I wasn't born yet...oh well, that was a horrible party time anyway) and do a review of Congo Bongo. What you ask? Congo Bongo is another game from the Atari 2600/Colecovision era of games. This game definitely needed better graphics as you are routinely caught getting stuck or miss jumping because you just can't position yourself correctly. From what I've gathered playing this game, you are a safari hunter (or Safarier?) chasing down a gigantic ape (sort of like King Kong). You get points for every step you take (yes you heard me) and there's really only 2 stages. If you manage to make your way through the pixelated game and get through both, they just repeat, which makes it pretty boring. The only thing catchy about the game is the music. (I still find it popping in my head at the most random times).
The blurry mess of pixels gets a Meh and Don't Bother.

Borderlands 2
To me Borderlands 2 is the unholy offspring of Halo and Diablo. A FPS set in a Halo-like universe with a Diablo gameplay. I found myself not caring about the story line and basically just doing quest after quest after quest. To be honest, there was a point during the game where I wasn't even sure I knew what the game was about. It felt like doing one big puzzle and a bunch of smaller puzzles on the side where you forget what the big puzzle was supposed to be. Now despite being boring in a few spots I definitely got some kicks from this game. The TMNT reference was great although I don't remember them ever liking marshmallows on their pizza. I went through as a Siren and some of the things that Maya says after headshots were pretty good. Borderlands 2 certainly is a game that you can just pick up on a rainy day and play without having to worry about feeling lost. I have been told that playing multiplayer made the game much more enjoyable, but I really didn't see how. Maybe my standards are just too high, but despite this game being solid in every aspect I wasn't gaga over it. It's like Hawkeye from the Avengers. Pretty cool, but no one's watching him. Everyone has their eyes on Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson = Wow).
I give this game a Meh and Wait for a sale. (Maybe a Black Friday pickup? I'm just saying)
Also forgot, that Claptrap might just be the most annoying thing in a game...ever.

Tekken 2
Just another fighting game. Not much different than any others. You get a base set of characters to use and can unlock a new one for each character you complete the game with. You get to watch a scene for each character you complete with which is actually very good quality and sometimes interesting.
It's not quite as hard on easy as some others I've played like Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat, so maybe that's a plus for you. The one thing this game has over many fighters is the computer usually doesn't spam 1 move over and over. It's pretty balanced and on higher levels it does get pretty ridiculous with the computer connecting different moves.
Nevertheless, it's still a fighter and you are guaranteed to get upset at it. Overall it's a Meh and Don't Bother.

NBA 2K13
So with the new NBA season kicking off this past week I've been immersing myself in NBA 2K13. Now I've played NBA 2K11 but not NBA 2K12 so to me this is a big upgrade. However, I think all the stuff that really impressed me was also in NBA 2K12. Now with this year's version, you get everything you normally get with a new version of a sports game. You get updated rosters, ratings, teams, etc. Therefore I won't award any points for any of this because this is expected of new sports games.
Now, the biggest thing I like about this is the cornucopia of moves you can perform. Almost everything that you can possibly imagine, you can do with some combination of controls. The downside of this of course is that the sheer number of moves is a little overwhelming. However, I'd rather have too many moves than not enough. Again, I'll leave this to the all-knowing internet because I'm too lazy to look this up, but I think NBA 2K12 also had an increase in the number of moves possible.
