So I finally just finished up Assassin's Creed 3. The first half of the game I thought was amazing and I started to actually just explore and forget about the story for a bit. Little by little I got bored and eventually decided to just finish the story and then come back to explore everything else later. I realized that the deeper I got into the story, the less I really liked it. I really wasn't a big fan of the ending.

Portal
Where do I begin a review of Portal, I mean what can I say about Portal that hasn't already been said? It's such a unique game. I'm trying to dig through all of my Portal files in my brain looking for something I didn't like about it and nothing is surfacing. One of the main complaints I've seen with Portal is that it's too short. I don't really care about the length of this game. I think it was long enough and if it was any longer it would become tedious and not be nearly as amazing as it is now. I guess the only bad thing about it might be that it's just too good. It set the bar for it's sequel so high that it would be crazy to think that the second game could live up to those standards (btw, it did), but surely a third game couldn't be just as good. I can't imagine that ever happening, which means that there will probably be a terrible Portal game (that's a shame).

Dishonored
Where to start with today's review. Let's see...I guess I could start with my thoughts of Dishonored before playing it. I had very high expectations for this game mainly because it's a Bethesda game (well I guess Arkane Studios game). I knew there was no way they could top Skyrim, but I still expected a great game. I'm not certain Dishonored lived up to my expectations, but then again they were very high. Not many games could've met those standards. So I wasn't blown away, but this was still a solid game all the way around.

Mass Effect 3
Maybe I should do the Mass Effect 1 and 2 reviews before I do this review, but I wanted to do a quicker review. In my eyes, this was by far the worst of the 3 ME games. It felt like the whole game I was doing little chores for people. Don't they realize that the existence of the entire universe is at stake? Why am I running around trying to find your stupid lost dog? Don't you see the giant gun on my back? Ok so you don't actually go looking for a lost dog, but you still are stuck doing equally mind numbing tasks.
The whole point of the game was to just see how the Mass Effect series ends. It seemed like a waste of 15 hours just to see how the series ended (if this was indeed the final of the series). Frankly I didn't think the ending was worth it. I don't think it was as bad as everyone else had said. To me it was like ordering pancakes, waiting 15 hours and getting waffles. Do I really care that I got waffles instead? A little. Do I care about waiting 15 hours? Absolutely. I give them props for redoing the ending for the fans, but they really didn't have to. I also get how they tried to introduce their multiplayer by tying it into the actual game. However, this was a very bad idea since the multiplayer was only co-op and not very good.
All in all this game puts the series to shame and I unfortunately have to give it a What a Piece of Junk and a Don't Bother. I bet they made a nice payday on it though...so good job there.

NBA 2K13
So with the new NBA season kicking off this past week I've been immersing myself in NBA 2K13. Now I've played NBA 2K11 but not NBA 2K12 so to me this is a big upgrade. However, I think all the stuff that really impressed me was also in NBA 2K12. Now with this year's version, you get everything you normally get with a new version of a sports game. You get updated rosters, ratings, teams, etc. Therefore I won't award any points for any of this because this is expected of new sports games.
Now, the biggest thing I like about this is the cornucopia of moves you can perform. Almost everything that you can possibly imagine, you can do with some combination of controls. The downside of this of course is that the sheer number of moves is a little overwhelming. However, I'd rather have too many moves than not enough. Again, I'll leave this to the all-knowing internet because I'm too lazy to look this up, but I think NBA 2K12 also had an increase in the number of moves possible.
